Solid & Engineered Hardwood
Solid & Engineered Hardwood
Hardwood flooring has been around for centuries.
Hardwood can improve the appearance of any home, offering warmth and endless beauty that can increase the value of your home. It has the advantages of being able to be restored by sanding and re-staining – a great renewable natural product.
In recent times, there has been a trend to use it a kitchen floor covering thus given the home a seamless floor through adjoining spaces.
If you on a tight budget and you can’t afford solid wood flooring, engineered wood flooring is a great alternative. You can install engineered wood flooring over numerous substrates such as basement floors, radiant floors, and concrete floors either as a floating floor or glue-down.
Some engineered wood floors has the added advantage of being able to be restored (sanded & re-stained) as the top layer is made of real hardwood. Engineered Wood flooring should not be confused with laminate flooring which is a multi-layer synthetic construction of fibres fused to produce a wood-looking flooring product.
Laminate flooring has grown in popularity over the years due to its diverse appications. Be it for a basement floor (make sure to put a vapour barrier or purchase a waterproof click flooring), or bedrooms, laminate flooring adds warmth of natural hardwood while being inexpensive compared to the former. With a wide range of textures and colours, you are sure to find one that suits your needs and budget.
